lost love
love floated to me in a cloud of coconuts
crept up to my side and arched its back
purring, I rose to meet it
and we melted into golden dust
and we found liberation.
I never wanted anything more than thisβ
I never even thought to want it.
a rafflesia bloomed before me
the sun spilled its orange guts over the sea.
the jungle rushed forth to meet me
and I rode right through it
on a bike with broken mirrors.
I allowed it all to happen
a witness to the love and beauty that this universe sheds
with utter indifference.
love must flow to stay alive.
I let the river slip through my fingers
not drinking from it
not sitting in it.
I let the love breathe
I let it dance around me
I let it go
and only now do I realise
that I wanted it.
